Release Oscar Simbras Delgado: Father of 4 U.S. Citizen Children

Father of 4 U.S. Citizen Children Faces Deportation After Border Patrol Raided the Latino Community in San Juan Capistrano

Oscar Simbras Delgado is a hard-working man that sustains his family while working as a landscaper for over 12 years. He was detained in a raid conducted by Border Patrol in San Juan Capistrano last Sunday. He is also the cousin of recently released Victoria Delgado Arteaga who also was caught up on the same raid.

He is the proud father of 4 U.S. citizen children. In 2010, Oscar's wife self-deported to Mexico to take care of her sick mother and took their children with her. Oscar's wife and U.S. citizen children depend on his income as he sends the majority of his earnings as remittances to Mexico. Oscar works very hard every day to make sure his children have the necessities to survive and to get an education. However, his 4 U.S. citizen children are being raised away from their father and the country they were born in.

Oscar should be released immediately the same way it happened with Victoria Delgado. Deporting him will not only limit the educational and economic opportunities he provides to his family, but it would permanently keep his U.S. children away from a better life here in the United States.

We ask that he receive a positive exercise of prosecutorial discretion as he is not a public threat, he has been in the country for over 10 years, and is the father of 4 U.S. citizen children that depend on his income."
